With more than 30 years’ experience as a TV producer in Australasia, Amanda Evans has worked in everything from comedy to documentary, children’s programmes, reality, arts and current affairs.
As an independent producer, she focuses her energies on developing TV concepts for broadcast – both in New Zealand and overseas. She has also acted as a consultant to other independent producers, and as an intermediary between them and the funding bodies and broadcasters in New Zealand.
Amanda began her career as a TV producer in Australia with the ABC. She’s subsequently worked both on staff and as an independent producer for the ABC and TVNZ, and as a consultant to Ten (Australia), Freemantle Media and Pearson International, among others. In addition to format development, producing series and documentaries for Pacific Screen, and she has continued her relationship with selected corporate clients to develop and produce educational resources for health consumers, students, employees and corporate trainees.
She combines a busy family life with managing Pacific Screen in New Zealand and Australia, her own creative writing, developing an orchard, and her favourite contact sport – quilting.
